Girls Rugby on the Isle of Man
Girls Rugby is enjoying a huge surge in participation numbers due to recent World Cup and the success of the England Red Roses team who narrowly lost to New Zealand’s Black Ferns in the final.
Manx Rugby is very keen for this momentum to continue and generate real growth in playing numbers on the island by the sports inclusion in The Manx Youth Games.
Rugby will be an option for girls in school years 6 and 9. The girls will eventually be playing contact rugby so rugby or football boots and a gum shield will be needed.
Every region has dedicated and qualified coaches ready to provide fun and challenging coaching sessions. They will also promote rugby's core values:
Teamwork • Respect • Enjoyment • Discipline • Sportsmanship
Coaches will notify players of any exclusion dates for the training sessions.
Footwear - Non marking clean trainers (west), other locations studs or trainers.
