NSC updates customers after fire

Thank you for your patience during the closure of the NSC Fitness Zone and Spa Suite following the fire on Wednesday 7th March.

The area has now been released back to us from the police/fire services following their investigations into the cause of the fire.

The damage to the male changing area is extensive and as such the changing room will have to remain closed until further notice whilst a full refurbishment takes place. When the fitness zone and spa suite reopens, male customers will be asked to use the changing facilities down the corridor by the main sports hall until the works have been completed.

During the fire the smoke penetrated the ventilation systems resulting in a significant amount of smoke entering into the fitness zone area. This has caused damage to the ceiling tiles, air conditioning units and has subsequently left a thick layer of carbon on the gym equipment. The ceiling tiles will need to be replaced and the air conditioning and ventilation systems cleaned out. To comply with the warranty of our specialist gym equipment we are required to have the equipment thoroughly cleaned, checked and serviced over by Technogym engineers (equipment supplier) prior to permitting customers use the equipment. It is estimated that this may take approximately 3 weeks to complete all of these essential works. If there are further updates on timescales in the meantime we will keep customers updated via our NSC Facebook Page.

It is fully appreciated that this information is disappointing for our customers, in particular those paying for a Gym/Spa membership. As a thank you for to our current Gym/Spa members for remaining loyal to the NSC during these difficult times incentives and credits/extensions will be arranged directly with these customers.

For our casual or 5 visit users, we will use our Facebook page to update customers as to when the facilities will be reopened.

The NSC Management Team and Staff would like to offer their sincere thank you to customers for their patience and support following this very unfortunate incident.
