Date set for NSC Pool Refurbishment

Further to the announcement in December 2017 it is now confirmed the swimming pools at the National Sports Centre (NSC) are scheduled to close from Friday 3rd August 2018 and is due to reopen in Spring 2019.

Minister for Education, Culture and Sport Graham Cregeen MHK said: ’The Programme for Government sets out a number of targets around health and wellbeing such as increasing the number of people regularly undertaking physical exercise, and increasing healthy life expectancy…Access to sports facilities plays a key role in realising these ambitions. The island has invested considerably in sport over the past 25 years and we continue to reap rewards from this.’

All junior swim school members have been contacted about provision during the closure at both Ballakermeen High School and Glencrutchery pool.  If you haven’t received your letter or have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the NSC via emailing nsc@gov.im

Following a survey with our early bird swimmers the NSC is delighted to report the facilitation of an Early Bird swim programme at Ballakermeen High School. The NSC has secured the use of the pool from 7:00am – 8:30am from Monday to Friday starting from Monday 6th August 2018.

There is currently a waiting list for Early Bird Memberships. For more information please see our downloadable leaflet ‘Early Bird Swim Membership’ or contact reception where our team will be happy to help.

Please note during the closure all other facilities within the NSC will be open as normal with new classes being incorporated into our already diverse timetable.
